Beside Still Waters

Loneliness, adaptation, aging, loyalty, and being God-like are all themes that can be found in this intriguing short story. 


It takes place in an asteroid belt, and is a superb piece of short science fiction. This story will lead you to reflect on the meaning of life and death. Mark named his asteroid after a girl he had never known. He eliminated the word “sir” from his robots’ vocabulary, and called for equality among him and his possessions of artificial intelligence. 


What comes to life then is the story of an unlikely but touching friendship.
