“A moving, beautifully written novel about the amazing WASP during World War Two. True to life and packed full of emotion.” Soraya M. Lane, bestselling author of Wives of War
“Brilliantly portrays the life of female flyers in World War Two. Seeing what those brave women went through and how despicably they were treated should stir indignation in the heart of every reader!” Rhys Bowen, New York Times bestselling author of The Tuscan Child
I loved reading this book. The characters were developed nicely. The moving back and forth between their lives and congressional hearings wasn’t disturbing at all. It was a different take on WW11, yet it wasn’t all girly. Watching the hearings in between their lives was a good way to show how times changed. I don’t really like the ending- it seemed cut off- just put the characters accidentally meeting, end of story.
Beyond the Horizon by Ella Carey
I absolutely loved this book of WWII women who were ddrawn to flying airplanes as members of WASP to do their part in the US war effort‼️. The close friendships of these young ladies are heartwarming as well as heartbreaking. Ms Carey’s characters are very much like friends you’d like to have & she describes the planes & love of flying beautifully! The ups & downs, , disappointmentS, trials, joy & budding romance, tragedy & deceit are all represented as the flygirls move through training, graduation & to assignments at various bases. Our heroine, Eva, has gone through so much since her accident in 1944 & suffered from memory loss! In 1977 she testifies before Congress to have WASP declared a military unit which helped the US win the war‼️. Then & only then does Eva learn of the truth of her accident‼️. You must read this wonderful story of true, well-researched evens & fictional additions of the author to tell her tale! You’ll enjoy hours of reading pleasure!
