Theresa had a lifelong goal to travel the world, but after getting diagnosed with a chronic illness, her adventurous dreams came grinding to a halt. Now every detail of her life had to be planned and prepared in this new grounded normalcy. She still managed to find her joys in day-to-day life, but longed to reclaim her adventurous self. With the discovery of RV rentals amidst the COVID lockdowns, and the encouragement of her optomistic husband Juan and their excitable lapdog Titan, Theresa took her first steps out to the California coastline. Each day spend on the road, Theresa tested her boundaries, stumbled over obstacles, but eventually learned to let go and rediscover her passion for discovery.

Beyond the Road is a cozy-style true story graphic novel, completely hand drawn using digital tools and written by the artist. Its first print run was successfully funded via Kickstarter in early 2026 and is now available for purchase online!
