This book is a compilation of connections between ancient Scriptural statements and modern American English idioms. Biblical wisdom has been passed down to us through the generations: parents and grandparents have used these idioms to mentor their children and grandchildren. Dr. Miller describes nearly 200 American-language idioms that stem from or are related to verses in the Old and New Testaments. He has provided meanings and Biblical sources for all of the idioms. It is surprising that so many of our American idioms have Scriptural connections. The reader may be intrigued by these modern connections to ancient texts.
