Bible Desire

There has been an alarm sounding for quite some time now. This alarm isn’t a faint beep sounding in the distance, or an insignificant steady horn like the obnoxious car honking in the parking lot that everyone ignores. Rather, this alarm is like a tsunami siren that pierces the ear drums of all in a city by the ocean. It is like the splitting crack of a gun shot that brings an unsettled ringing in the ears of those close by. It is like a megaphone blasting point blank range into the face of every Christian. What is the occasion? What is the alert? The Bible is not being desired. In reality the Bible isn’t a prop though we might use it as one. It is not a furnishing for our coffee tables or bookshelves. It is not a block of wood with leather wrapping. Whether we realize it or not, it is a bottomless treasure chest waiting to be opened. One can reach deep inside of the treasures of the Bible and always find what they need.
