Publisher Description

Johnson’s savagely funny [book] is a grunt’s-eye view of fear and loathing, arrogance and insanity in a dysfunctional, dystopian closed community. It’s like M*A*S*H on ice, a bleak, black comedy.”—The Times of London

Funny, strange and sad, but inspiring

If you’ve ever wanted to go to space or work in some far off place, Antarctica is about as close as you’ll get without being a top-notch astronaut. But just because you get to go there doesn’t mean it’s all penguins and happiness. Johnson is a superb observer of the absurd. An Antarctic veteran and management irritant just so happens to have compiled the best of his infamous blog into these fantastically appealing stories. Sorry to say he’s passed on, but his work will forever be remembered.
