"Big Decisions" is Linda Byler's wonderful book about Amish Lizzie and her life and her family. The big decisions relate to whether and whom she will marry, how one of her parents will deal with a debilitating illness, and how her relationship with her husband, the rest of her family and God will evolve. I will not give away any spoilers, but I will say that knowing this book is based on truth made it even more enjoyable and inspirational. One of my favorite parts was Lizzie's
friendship with a co-worker, an Englisch woman with whom she ostensibily would have little in common. But as usual, Byler has shown us that even with those who seem so different, we have more in common than it may appear - and when we focus on that, life is so much better for all involved! I seem to use words like "Wonderful" often, when reviewing Linda Byler's books, and there is a reason. She does a superb job of writing about everyday Amish life and rendering it heartwarming and inspiring. I can't wait to read my next Byler book!
