Birthright
A refreshing read after having found so many novels that lacked any depth. This series draws you in and holds your attention. I had a hard time putting it down!
Jasmine is a struggling single (human) mom of twin boys who have joined the military. Her world is turned upside down when one of them is injured in an attack and is shipped to the states for recovery. It's at this point she finds out her boys are wolf shifters who have managed to keep that part of themselves hidden even from their mother.
But no more. The main Alpha wolf, Silas, aka La Patron has discovered the half breed twins and their unusual mother: unusual because it is believed that wolves and humans cannot produce offspring. In his attempt to discover how this was possible Silas uncovers a rebellion that has been brewing for years right under his nose. In the process the strong independent Alpha finds himself soon to be the father of Jasmine's newest 'litter' of half-breeds. Though he is drawn to the strong witty Jasmine, he struggles with the idea of humanity invading his full blood wolf pack.
This is book one in a series. No real cliffhangers but not quite a stand alone either. You will definitely want to read book two, at which point you could stop and walk away. That is if aren't totally hooked on Silas, Jasmine, and all the other wonderfully put together characters! Not to mention the rebellion and civil war! I must go on and see what else this author has in store!
