Tara Collins just wants to be normal. Everyone else wants her dead.

Christian Roth is more than your average PI. A vampire and ex-demon hunter, Christian lives among the humans, trying to be “normal.” But recently, things seem to be falling apart. There’s a crazed demon hell-bent on revenge hunting him down, and a fae assassin on the loose with an unknown target. And the Order he abandoned desperately needs his help.
As the secrets of Tara’s past collide with the problems in Christian’s present, she finds herself fighting her attraction to the dark and mysterious investigator. Falling in love does not fit into her plans at all, but Tara soon learns that some rules are meant to be broken.
The Order series is best enjoyed in order.

Slow start
It’s starts off slow but obviously the author is painting the picture of us readers that ends up making sense.
We’re introduced to our main character Tara, who has only known of her Aunt Kathryn as Family, but her aunt ends up passing away.
Growing up, Tara was restricted to rules enforced by her aunt, so she was always curious and would watch the outside world (her town) from a far.
Even as a 22yr old, she still finds herself mentally going over the rules that she’s not allowed to break, but since her aunt has passed, she’s decided to break them one by one.
So Tara decides to invest in a Private Investigator and a Vampire(Tara doesn’t know that part yet) named Christian, to help her find her birth parents and her true identity since she believed what her aunt had told her all along was based on lies.
BUT OF COURSE, sparks are there between Tara and Christian that are undeniable.
We uncover there’s more to Tara of her true identity.
There’s casualties left and right and it seems to question, can they accept love in the midst of unknown factors ahead?

I personally loved it, although it was kind of predictable but I loved the introduction to the other characters too.
Worth the time
Glad I started this series. The characters from this book develop and lead to other entertaining books in the series.
