Publisher Description

A Warhammer 40,000 Novel

Bjorn lived through the most terrible civil war the galaxy has ever known. Now interred in the sarcophagus of a Dreadnought, he rests for centuries until an event deemed worthy of his attention forces the Space Wolves to rouse him for battle. The arrival of an ancient enemy at the gates of Fenris is one such event...

READ IT BECAUSE

It's an epic tale about one of the most legendary figures of the Imperium, and one of the very few who can remember the events of the Horus Heresy. But that incredible life has left a mark on him, and Bjorn is haunted by the truth of the galaxy.

THE STORY

Bjorn the Fell-handed is the oldest living Space Marine in the Imperium. A hero of the Space Wolves from the darkest days of myth, he was interred within the iron tomb of a Dreadnought eight thousand years ago, called upon only when the need is strongest.

When a ghost ship drifts out of the warp and returns to Fenris, the old wolf wakes, for an ancient foe has risen again. The ship has brought the horrors of the Death Guard to the proud halls of the Space Wolves, and Bjorn must lead his kin to face the darkness.

As the dead stir and the veil between worlds tears open, Bjorn stands between his pack and damnation. This will be a saga of faith, fury, and ghosts that never sleep.

There are no wolves on Fenris?

The Rout? Never heard of them.

If there were no wolves on Fenris there are a plethora now. Wolf this, pup that, growl here, fang there. Enough!

Starts off well enough, especially the Gawain and Green Knight/Death Guard bit. The majority of the book is repetitive and uninspired “bolter p*rn.” Hill leans far too heavily into wolf-adjacent wordplay as well.

If you come strictly from 40k and have not read any Heresy Wolves, this book may be for you. Otherwise you can skip this one.

Overpriced Filler

See title. I’ve read over 60 warhammer books. it’s decent enough reading, i supposed but leans far to heavy into “pup” and lazy writing.
