Good read
This book had me hooked from page one and mildly annoyed by page two hundred, which is honestly a sign of a great fantasy series. Blade Breaker picks up right after Realm Breaker and wastes zero time throwing dragons, politics, and emotionally damaged immortals at you like it’s a clearance sale at Chaos Depot. Every page screams “something epic is happening,” even if half the time that “something” is just a very intense walk to the next continent.
Sorasa Sarn continues to be the people’s princess of stabby feelings—sarcasm as armor, trauma as perfume. Dom is still a six-foot-five emotional support broadsword with braids so slutty they deserve their own POV chapter. Together they’re “what if enemies-to-lovers, but make it therapy.” Erida? She’s out here ruling with an iron fist and zero Wi-Fi, making every council meeting feel like a Real Housewives reunion but with more beheadings.
Corayne, our chosen one, bless her heart, still gives strong “honor student leading a group project” energy. Her sword has more personality than she does, which is impressive considering it doesn’t talk. Taristan remains the growliest man alive—half villain, half lawnmower. At this point, his dialogue could be replaced by the sound of distant thunder and no one would notice.
Still, I can’t hate it. The finale slapped, the pacing eventually remembered it had somewhere to be, and the emotional beats hit like a trebuchet to the feelings. Blade Breaker is equal parts banger and bloated, poetic and painfully extra—but when it works, it works. Come for the worldbuilding, stay for Sorasa and Dom accidentally inventing sexual tension while trying not to die.
Riveting
This series is action pack with mystery that you go from one emotion to the next before you can even process what’s happening! Definitely addictive in good ways! Can’t wait for the next book..
