Good read
This is a good read but I thought the lead male character was annoying and spineless. If you choose to read this book, be patient and ignore the grammar and extra words. About 1/4 of the way thru I figured the author was not from the U.S. The “American” English is not good and the translation isn’t the easiest to read but worth it.
Very poorly edited
This was a charming book but the editing was very poorly done. I’m not sure if this was a case of English as a second language or just a lot of typos. That being said I liked the premise of the book
3 1/2 stars
This book gets points for being different, and deviating from typical romance genre plots and patterns. However, the lead male character doesn’t seem to grow up or change at all. And, while the female matures, this doesn’t carry over into her relationship with her love interest. He is manipulative and controlling, and I could not believe their relationship had depth or was sustainable. The female seemed too good for him, and he was constantly accusing her of being a pushover, when he was a complete doormat for his ex.
