Blood Loss

Blood Loss, (Bk 2 of Jeremy’s Run) continues where L.A. Dark (Bk 1) ended. It is Day Two. The grid is down. Five ordinary friends begin to execute their plan to reach an airport and find an older plane that the pilot in their group, Matt Wentworth, can prop-start. It's a long shot, but the freeways are impassable and there's no walking across the Mojave Desert in the summer. 

 

Jeremy, Kade, and Karina risk the benighted streets to get to Kar’s ex-boyfriend, Eddie, to trade for a decent weapon. But Eddie won’t trade, and Kade won’t take "no" for an answer. In the meantime, Matt and Sarah venture out on their own to find some child-trailers for the bikes they've collected. Brave, well-intentioned, and foolish, they are abducted by an armed gang.  

 

When the others discover them missing, Kade sets off with his faithful pit bull, Gooch, to find them. There comes a time when the odds don't matter. When the upright man feels compelled to do his worst.
