But even as the forbidden relationship tempts her, Blue shows her exactly the kind of hero he is and crossing the line becomes almost impossible as it dawns on her bit by bit that she knows how to heal him and in the process, maybe he could save her, too. Will her heart rule her head? While they work to overcome their trauma, Blue’s past comes back to haunt him in a violent way, putting Charlie’s life in danger. After all that they have to overcome, will this tear them apart?

Harsh, horrific reading for those who lived through the POW time! This book was painful, but again, you couldn’t put it down as you wanted to see how Blue & Charlie beat their demons. Don’t read this if too much sex & sexual references bother you.

Heart wrenching
As the other reviews state, this one is dark and absolutely heart wrenching with all that Blue went through and his recovery. However, I just do not like Charlie at all. I’m not a bandage person for one thing but Charlie’s “trauma” did not begin to compare to Blue’s! And how she needed to resolve her loss through sexual bandage just did not mesh for me. I’m not saying that that type of loss or situation would not cause some ptsd etc but it was not the same or even close to Blue’s trauma. Also, her “fear” seemed to me to be more of an attention getting type thing that I have witnessed from some people in real life rather than a genuine problem. Anyhow, over all it was a good story line.
Lastly, once again I will say that this author needs a better editor. For someone who already struggles with a slight case of dyslexia, the lack of proper construction of sentences or grammar is brutal.

The “warning” in the beginning didn’t prepare me for the horrible part of an enemy capture. This book made me cry. Overcoming these type of scars is not easy, but finding the right person to help heal the raw wounds returns a hero to a whole again person.
