Two worlds collide when the corruption and crime of one of Mexico's most violent cartels spreads over the border. A sophomore college student has gone missing while on spring break in Mexico. Private Investigator Catherine James is investigating but when the evidence begins to point to a violent gang affiliated with the cartel, Catherine soon finds herself a target. She turns to the only man she can trust, an old flame named Matt, a Gulf War veteran with whom she shares a complicated past.
Meanwhile, Yesenia Flores is an adventurous young woman from Mexico who seeks a better life across the border in the U.S., but quickly becomes entangled in a web of lies designed to trap her into modern day slavery by the same crime association Catherine faces in Mexico. A witness to a murder, Yesenia soon finds herself running for her life.
North and South our stories run parallel until their dramatic collision and conclusion.

Border Crossings
A good if somewhat predictable plot cleanly written. Three reasons I thought to write the review.
1. The book achieved its most important purpose to entertain and provide the reader a few hours of escape.
2. It highlights problems in Mexico that are complex and shows the good and bad on both sides of the border. It has good and not just the usual bad Mexicans characters. It portrays the difficulty and risks Mexicans face trying to do things right. Finally the story describes how our demand for vices causes much of the problems.
3. The book was independently published, I think it is important to support writers who chose this harder path and are writing for the love of writing and telling stories.
To other readers enjoy! To Mr. Weems keep writing.
