Taken. Chosen. Marked. Three women, three worlds built on the same foundation: possession is absolute here.

The first belongs to a warlord whose power has no ceiling and whose grip, once closed, doesn't open. She came in as a captive. That label stopped fitting somewhere along the way, but the alternative is harder to say out loud. He wants her, specifically, and in his world that want carries the force of law.

The second finds herself at the center of a ritual she didn't request, bound to warriors who share territory and resources with ruthless efficiency but draw a hard line at sharing her. Ancient custom put her here. Ancient custom says she stays. What nobody accounted for is what happens inside that arrangement when the dust settles and the fire burns low, the smell of woodsmoke heavy in the tent, and it's just them.

The third gets marked by a king in a rite old enough that no one alive remembers who first wrote the rules. His claim is carved into her place at his side, and the throne casts a long shadow. Control is the point. She knew that going in. What she didn't expect was the specific weight of being chosen, not as a symbol, but as the one he wants beside him.

Raw desire. Ritual bonds. Defiance that feeds obsession rather than breaking it.

In worlds like these, resistance doesn't protect you. Sometimes it only pulls the knot tighter.
