Cloud (Boundaries) argues that the personal and interpersonal side of leadership is every bit as important as vision and execution. Leaders, he shows, set the stage and either propel or derail, and most of the time these issues have little to do with a leader's business acumen and more to do with how they lead people and the culture they foster. To that end, Cloud puts forth the principles of boundaries " that determine what will exist" as a key component of effective leadership. Thoughtful guide to Leading well
This is a great read for leaders at every level. In this book Dr. Cloud reminds the reader that leadership is about people... about you as a leader and the people you lead. Boundaries for leaders takes the reader through the science of how the brain works (including why it doesn't sometimes) and the power of relationships with, and between, the people you lead. He also outlines the steps that you as a leader can take to create an environment to maximize both of these factors to deliver incredible results. Dr. Cloud accomplishes this in his typical conversational tone, with a simplicity that reveals the deep understanding of a great teacher.
Boundaries for Leaders is a great read on the science and art of leadership, packed full of the type of practical utility that will see you pick it up again and again. I was very impressed with this book, I recommend it highly.
Exactly what I needed
I watched all the videos first thinking I would get the gist of what Dr. Cloud was sharing. I then read the chapters from the book. I could immediately apply what I read and am personally using this content for my own leadership development & with the teams I am responsible to and for. Being ridiculously in charge starts with me. As a leader, it starts with you. If we do the work-creative, positive results will follow. Great for business but everything in this book can be applied to all of our relationships: marriage, family, community, nation and world.

This book is amazing. Our whole leadership team is reading and utilizing it.
But... It is no longer readable on my iPhone!
I purchased it weeks ago and have been reading it.
Today it comes up with an error that it is not in a readable format for iBooks!!! What the what??
