Another good story from John Saul
Brainchild is one of eight books I’ve read by John Saul. The reason I consider him a master of horror is because while all of these books are good books, some of them are amazing! Unfortunately, Brainchild is not one of them, although it does come pretty close. Thanks to iBooks providing an accurate description, pretty close in its wording, in fact, to the paperback editions, I won’t go into detail about the story’s plot; it’s just not necessary. I will explain that what kept me from enjoying this one enough to think of it as a favorite was simply that the book didn’t have enough passages that really packed the terror and suspense of its final chapters. Those climactic events really packed a punch! Overall, a pretty decent story, though. John Saul’s fans will love it, but if you really want his best books, his most absolutely terrifying, I recommend: Suffer the Children, The Unloved, The God Project, and Midnight Voices. When it comes to the best that this particular horror writer can deliver, these are the stories that REALLY PACK A PUNCH!!!
Love John Saul!
Another great book, what more can I say.
