Loved It
Great small town romance. Emily makes rules, especially for dating. She needs to feel in control. Stone does not plan on staying. These two should not make a great couple, but their initial, immediate, mutual attraction doesn’t care. Both Emily and Stone have past issues to deal with. Lots of emotions going on in this story. I really enjoyed reading this one.

Emily is back at her family’s ranch in Fortune, CA, after breaking her engagement. Now she’s devising ways to keep the ranch profitable. Stone is an Air Force pilot; he came home to help his dad through the illness which took his life. Now he’s running dad’s flight school until it is sold.
Tired of being viewed as the “good girl” as well as reliable and sensible, Emily decides to shake up her life when someone in her grandmother’s genealogy group finds a namesake who was a female pilot.
Lo and behold the local flight school instructor is the hot guy that Emily has had two disastrous experiences with! She is surprised but undeterred while Stone is cautiously optimistic about flying with her and maybe a little more?
What follows is a fun, sad at times, story of loss, hope and reconciliation. The secondary characters provided more depth to the lives of both Emily and Stone. Her family, his sister and their situations helped them both grow their relationship. And discovering that sometimes it is okay to toss the rules!
