He’s a retired SEAL. She’s the hacker who never lets anyone in.

I’d rather be elbows deep defusing a bomb than deal with my feelings. Civilian life is messy, but it’s all I’ve got. Getting blown up should have sent me home in a body bag. Instead, it stole the sensation in three fingers, most of the cartilage in my right knee, and left me with scars I don’t talk about. Most days, I can't get around without my cane.
Now, I build security systems and run an online message board for vets. But the best part of my day is always gaming with West, a retired SEAL.
I thought trash-talking and battling virtual enemies together was enough. Until he asks me out for coffee.
We were even making a go of it until someone started sabotaging my code, threatening my job, my reputation, and my future.
West sees me pulling away and wants in. I know how to catch a hacker. I don’t know how to let someone else catch me.
So I pick a fight. A bad one.
By the time I get my head on straight, he's gone, and in the silence that follows, I wonder if—yet again—I’m too much. Too damaged. Too broken.
Will we find our way back to each other? Or will the fallout take us both down for good?

Excellent
I couldn’t stop reading. The plot was intriguing and it was well written.
Roles
The main female character was too wimpy to keep my attention.
So slow
Nothing happens for so long. Pure torture.
Many distractions that never fully develop (Al, Royce, family).
Who is on the cover?
Who is breaking his code?
The protagonist is a woman!
Should have left the manuscript in limbo.
