Great, haunting series
This is the 4th book in the London charismatics - in which characters possessed of inconvenient (at best, and tormenting at worst) magics in a largely mundane world are trying to use their powers for good as the UK enters WWI. Beautifully written and excellent pacing.
Another fantastic read in this series
Another great read with wonderful characters that have come to almost feel like friends. It was also very nice to get to know some of the series’ more peripheral characters in this book. The plot was as tightly paced as usual and the depth of feeling as deep and moving as always. While I personally found at least some foreshadowing much more obvious in this book than the previous books in this series, that didn’t take any of my enjoyment away.
