Ko is an island girl who dreams big and tends to follow her heart and her gut. This memoir follows the author's travels and travails in her turbulent late twenties after a broken engagement. Written in snippets and diary form, insights are made along small, domestic trips and big, international journeys. The struggling journalist takes leaps of faith and grows spiritually, emotionally and physically while managing relationships with money, men and herself. Through self-awareness as well as trial-and-error, one young woman comes to some sense of redefined success, ease and enlightenment.
Customer Reviews
Brave and Inspiring
A soulful, highly relatable read. Ko takes you on a vividly drawn journey, giving you a front-row seat to wondrous sights all over the world and her own spiritual transformation within.
Honest. Human. Wonderful.
Thoughts and truths and stories that heal the soul and inspire the mind.
Relatable
Somebody once said that you read books to know that you're not alone... Something to that effect. Also, I'm not sure who, but I'm going to just credit Oprah. She'd say something like that.
Everyone's got something to relate to here: finance shortages, damnation of relationships, social expectations, inevitable insecurities, recuperating (and temporary) indulgences, enduring the run, being human, and finding something more.
Ko's documented human experiences are empirical evidence that it is okay to completely submerge yourself in the sea of emotions.
This short memoir just might help you go Frozen and let it go.
