Broken, Beaten & Scarred

Broken, Beaten & Scarred is a book of poems that originally started out as a journal to help me cope with the myriad of issues that were eating me alive from the inside-out. I was unemployed due to a permanent lay off, was just dumped by my girlfriend whom I was deeply in love with, bills/rent were piling up fast; my kids were going through an awful resentment phase, and to top it all off, I suffer from deep depression (Bipolar II). This book is a journey of my life that covers over a two year span and encompasses all the feelings & emotions Ive been harboring inside of me my entire lifetime. It also serves two purposes; first as an emotional cleansing for myself. To get down deep within myself and address the issues that I had bottled up my whole life, and to be able to let them go. Secondly, and probably more importantly, its to let others out there who are suffering through mental illnesses, as well as those being bombarded by lifes seemingly unrelenting obstacles to know that you are not alone in your fight. Remember that everything that happens in life, whether good or bad, only lasts but for a season. Nothing lasts forever, so enjoy the good times as if its your last, and keep pushing through the hard times because there IS light at the end of the tunnel.
