Essential Key to Finding a New Job
If you're in career transition you need to read this book immediately. Every other book I've ever read walks you through the steps involved in writing a resume, updating your LinkedIn page and preparing for interviews. Those steps are important but not as important as addressing the mental issues such as anger, fear and insecurities that come along with losing your job and which can end up sabotaging your efforts to land a new one. The most important learning lesson for me in this book was the importance of taking time after losing a job to reflect and figure out what I want to do next, rather than just rushing out to replace my income. Life's too short to do something I'm not passionate about. Lots of great learning examples from other people in exactly the same position which really helped as well as exercises and frameworks to use to help move you forward. A must have for anyone in career transition or anyone contemplating a move.
