Publisher Description
Sophie Benedict was sixteen when she was burned in the house fire that killed her parents and eight years later, while the scars on her skin have healed, those on her soul haven't. Working as a licensed therapist online, it keeps her away from face to face interaction. She's more comfortable with other people's pain than her own. Hayden Cole was the rookie fireman who hesitated—it was his first call. While ultimately he saved her, he believes everything that's happened to her belongs squarely on his shoulders. He'd do anything to make it right. As he begins to coax her out of the darkness and into the light, Hayden realizes that he was the one who was lost. Only their love can burn away the shadows that threaten to swallow them both.

Dreams Really do Come True
Sophie & Hayden are such amazing characters. Their shared past is nothing less than heartbreaking. This book should come with a "Tissue Warning" because you will need at least a box. It's not sad at all but the emotional aspect, the pain that they both have to deal with is so intense that you can't help but feel their pain. This is in huge part due to the skill of the author. Sara Arden has to be one of the most amazing writers I've had the honor to read. She brings you in and doesn't let go. Not even when you finish the book. She writes the kind of characters that stay with you long after you've put the book down.
One of the things I love best is the reality. Sophie is head over heals in love with Hayden but whether it's due to her training or her past she knows that until he's fixed himself they can't find their happy together. The self-awareness is astounding, putting her love and her wants to the side so that the man she loves can come to terms with himself and his actions is both scary and admirable. Risking love is something that most can't or won't do but Sophie does it with so much grace and strength that she has become one of my favorite characters.
