Enjoyable and wonderful characters
This was the first paranormal book I'd ever read, so whether I was a good person to write a review is up for debate. And since I wasn't used to reading anything in this genre, it took me longer to read than normal because there were a lot of references that I didn't understand and either looked them up for left it to the author to define them, which she did quite well.
I enjoyed this introduction to the story of Raven and Ealasaid and their binding love. And I really loved the way that their world was built in this book. I'd originally assumed that, because it was a new genre that I wouldn't understand this "other world", and I was very wrong. I thought the story was well written and the characters were wonderfully developed. Other than being lost and not understanding some of the narrative (as mentioned earlier), it was an enjoyable read.
I would happily recommend this book to anyone who is a fan of this genre. Patricia Eddy is an extremely talented writer who takes her craft seriously. She is able to build worlds and create them so that the reader can step into another time and place effortlessly. In addition, she is able to weave her wonderful characters into the plot in such a way that you are there with them, just like good friends.
