Byzatine iconograpy

To present the life of Jesus with ancient byzantine icons is  a new way to introduce the orthodoxy in the Chinese world.  Chinese language is pictorial ,  Chinese communicate using pictures. So i started to teach presenting to my people icons. 

The result was marvellous. They could understand better the life of Jesus , better than reading a text.

Because the icons have very deep spiritual meaning, and express the theology with colours and shapes, teaching by icons the life of Jesus, in parallel we teach in the subconscious mind the spirituality and the “ethos” of the orthodox church.

Icons lead to communion, (icons as communion  so the Chinese people gazing at the icons they have a taste of the church life.

But icons have also healing effect to the soul of the reader. They brink close to him the world of god, the fast of love, and the result is healing the wounds of the soul.
