When Callahan and Dax attend a book signing, they both have an eye for the pretty lady author who writes novels about veterans and their families impacted by wars. But Cat Callahan sees something more—a man who watched Erin Shaw as she spoke with her fans, before approaching her. There's something about this guy … Is he really, as he claims, a journalist wanting to write a story about her success, or is there more to it than that?

When shots are fired, Callahan won't leave Erin's side until he figures out what's going on. In his typical cat-detective fashion, he's leaping to the rescue and gathering evidence before the police even have a clue.
