I was trained to be a hunter. Growing up in the nation's most infamous, violent cult, my job was simple. Track. Kill. Survive.
And that's what I did… until our leader threatened to kill his own daughter.
Refusing to watch another senseless murder, I did what I was trained to do. I took his life. Then I claimed his land, and set every member free, including her. I only had one goal left. Find the sister I was told was dead.
But being a hunter in the woods is a far cry from tracking a woman in Miami Beach.
I did not find my sister.
I found my stepsister.

Callan was so good and Alpha
This was a great addition to the series. Just like the author mentioned it would take a cleverness to do Callan’s story. She did it. Callan was so strong and determined to be more than his upbringing and past. He fought through the cult tendencies and made himself. He also knew love and wanting a mate. He is Alpha male and makes no excuses for his demands. Read On!
I have read all of her books at least twice .,.love them all kodos to Sybil
I have loved every book I have read by Sybil Bartel, that being said this one was just okay for me. The characters just didn’t resonate with me like the previous books. Callan/Hero was raised in a cult and when that ended he went looking for the sister he never knew he had. When he found his biological father he was surprised to find Emily there, they had a short encounter a year earlier. He finds out Emily is his stepsister, as his bio father remarried. This story does have the intrigue and action of her other books, but I just couldn’t connect with Callan or Emily. This is all my personal preference, and I would recommend it because I know most may not have the same option as me.
