Calypso, is a collection of personal family stories, written by David Sedaris. Calypso is highly acclaimed for dark humor and its satirical view of family life. A homosexual man, with partner, Hugh Hamrick, David Sedaris looks at gay weddings in his humorous, but supportive way. He observes the growing old process and how life at sixty offers more of a past than a future. A comical observation, but oh so true!


Calypso is about middle age, mortality and the family that he has had a love – hate relationship with over the course of growing up and maturing.  He takes the reader down a road of comical, but real observations of his family. A family not unlike many families out in the social order of today. Sedaris is an acclaimed writer, humorist and Grammy award winner for his audio-books.
