Publisher Description

America has ever been a melting pot and is yet again going through a fundamental shift in politics, social scene, and technology. The country is deeply polarized on climate change, deficit ceilings, energy policy, taxes, and wars. Hispanics and Asians are dramatically changing the cultural landscape. Technology is moving too rapidly making obsolescence word of the day. The world is flattening for sure, but a ‘post-America world’ sounds nihilistic as if America’s days are over. Many leading economists seem to have resigned to the fact that China will overtake the U. S. and lead the world. The authors beg to disagree and discuss how America, with its solid infrastructure, innovation, creativity, and proven legal and established political systems, can and will return to its heydays and continue to be a beacon to the world.

The e-book, comprising roughly 40,000 words and 30 chapters, explores themes ranging from education, economics, entrepreneurship, politics, and women leadership to human nature, the metaphysical basis of science and existentialism.

In politics, we uncover the underlying factors that make the U. S. politics severely bi-polar. We discuss the future of Arab Spring, examine the critical significance of the U. S.-India bilateral ties to counter-balance Beijing's growing clout, and to safeguard and extend America's leadership in the world order.

On education, we debate the merits and weaknesses of educational policy, structure and the effectiveness of spending in education, pay tribute to the yeoman efforts of Teach for America, and advocate measures to revamp the sector.

On the economy, we revisit the trickle-down theory, probe the psychological factors behind Gold's never-ending bullish trend, debate the role of Unions in the labor sector, mull the prospects of a revival of the American manufacturing industry, suggest specific reforms to the U. S. taxation structure, and argue the merits of the Stimulus Plan.

On human nature, we explore the binary patterns of the human brain, the psychological perception of time, investigate the human factors which keep alive the passion for non-profit work in a Capitalist framework. We rekindle the debate on torture and capital punishment, offer our take on the myth or otherwise of global warming, and point out the growing risks and dangers of cyber-terrorism.

We also offer an intuitive proof of the intractability of arriving at a theory of everything, drawing inspiration from Albert Camus.

The work offers bounteous food for thought for the discerning reader. The book is recommended to you if you are curious to know what the  Camus Paradox is. For political leaders with a conscience that want to make a difference, the book offers specific recommendations. Philosophically stranded people will gain new perspectives while entrepreneurs will discover useful tools from reading this work. The material offered here will tickle your gray cells, prod your thinking in a new direction, and incite you to see things in a different light. Akin to the works of Anton Chekov, the book refrains from taking specific positions on some aspects offering only a point of view, while on some others it takes a very precise stand.

Regardless of who you are, we believe you will find this book fascinating to read and ponder over.

Camus Does a Double-Take

This book makes fantastic reading for the variety and collection of topics it covers. The authors, although may sound liberal at times, back up their claims and opinions with solid facts. The reader may choose to complete the entire in one setting or opt to read it by sections – Economy, Politics, Education, etc. – or by chapters. The authors’ views especially on the future of America, China, and India and interactions among them are thought-provoking.
