I read the library book cover-to-cover last night. Middway through, I realized: Captain Atom is a metaphor for those who think themselves different, like myself. I was diagnozed with ADD back in 2012. Before that there were times in my life where I felt misplaced, where my conscience would tell me I didn't belong with certain people. Truth is, I might have misbehaved in the past and in turn come off as different to others. I was living in tbe past!
In the third chapter in "Captain Atom Volume 2: Genesis," he wishes he could be normal just to feel Ranita's touch. We all wish for things/people we don't need- Do we really need it? I don't think so! I believe that. regardless of disabilieties, we need to keep hoping for a better tomorrow where we can walk for a while on our on two feet! It might feel lonely at the top for Captain Atom, but in the end he has to do what has to be done!
