Publisher Description
A little girl says goodbye to her grandfather after he passes away. How she deals with death is unique, joyous and clever. She decides to build a cardboard version of her grandfather so that he can still hang out with her and do all the things they used to do before he died. Eventually, she realizes that while she must move on, her memory of her grandfather will live forever. This story was originally told to me by my daughter the day after her grandfather died. I tried to capture her perspective and not alter any of her five-year old sensibilities. Hopefully it will help other children ease through similar sad yet unavoidable circumstances.

Great book we can most all relate too
If you've lost a loved one this is a comforting read for you and your kids.
I stumbled across this book after learning the author also directed the feature film "Lisl and the Lorlock" which is a great film and one of my favorites.
