Carmen

Carmen is a moving and poignant novel about a young girl desperately searching for identity, recognition, and even the right to her existence. She comes to the Netherlands as an adopted baby. Due to the traumatic events surrounding her birth, she cannot find true happiness in her early years. As she reaches adolescence, her life spirals into a whirlpool—a downward spiral from which escape seems impossible. Only an angel can save her then.
