Standing in Dee's way is a gang of relatives who care more about Laila's fortune than her future. When a housekeeper falls victim to poisoning, Dee fears for Laila. Perfect and such fun!
I started reading Charlotte Armstrong books after watching Don’t Bother To Knock, my fav Marilyn Monroe movie and realized it was based on Armstrong’s book Mischief. I’m a devout fan of Armstrong’s style. She takes you on a wild ride, up-ends her characters, takes advantage of all the time period tropes, and turns out incredible suspense thrills. Muddled, fast-paced, and tinged with delicious angst, Catch As Catch Can is a rollercoaster doozy! It adds a bit of Marx Bothers comedy to take you completely over the edge.
