Olivia Ward had taken to counting everything since her long stay in the clinic.

The elderly woman’s anger was palpable, she’d done her maths – even if approximate. Comparing the population of Northern Ireland and the number of dead from the ‘Troubles’ of the last thirty years with the population of the United States, she’d come up with the grim answer.

Olivia had fragmented in 1975 when her favourite son Tom was shot in the head ‘in error’ by unknown Belfast paramilitaries. Graeme had lost a brother but would make a fortune. Olivia has made a new friend, a paranoid schizophrenic Dun, who has lost more than we could imagine.

Together Olivia and Dun seek revenge.

Set against a backdrop of post 9/11 political intrigue, and with its roots in the ‘Troubles’ of Northern Ireland, this taut thriller brutally explores, through the relationships of its characters, the price paid by ordinary people for domestic terrorism.
