Catching Rain

Catching Rain follows Cassiopeia Callister, a fiery haired college graduate as she volunteers to work in the Amazon rainforest.  Cassiopeia arrives in country alone but quickly grows to love its people and her new friends from the volunteer group.  She spends time in the third world capitol city before heading for the remote interior.  While in the city, Cassie falls in love with Orion, an emerald eyed man, and thinks she will never again find happiness when she leaves for the village.  But as she struggles to acclimate to village life with no electricity, running water or conveniences, Calvin, a man with ebony dreadlocks  living two villages over, Cassie realizes that she may have chosen the wrong man from the beginning.  Cassie connects with an albino woman named Solata and an eleven year old village girl, Dola, who is in serious trouble.  The struggle and magic of jungle life and new love changes Cassiopeia Callister forever, and a surprise visit from Orion changes everything.
