Cedar Canyon : Helen Mccoy

"Cedar Canyon" is set in mid-twentieth century west Texas and New Mexico. An aspiring young horse man accepts a task from his uncle to go round up the cattle on a remote ranch in New Mexico so that the ranch can be sold. While he is stopped at a truck stop having a cup of coffee, he sees a hitchhiker slip into the feed bin of his horse trailer and the adventure of a lifetime begins. "Helen McCoy" - In the 1880's, Helen Dorr grows up in the hard-scrabble mining and lumber country of the American frontier. Her "Pa" isn't strong enough to join his brothers with their work in the mines and forests, so he starts the first store in the area and Helen helps him run it. However, she is soon swept off to a more remote area where Pete McCoy, her new husband, has found a beautiful area for a home and ranch. They soon discover the secret of the old lost Spanish mission; a secret that changes their lives in a surprising way. Helen McCoy tells her life story in this frontier romance.
