Karen Webber is in small-town hell. After her mother’s death, she moved to Corrigan Falls to live with strangers—her dad and his perfect, shiny new family—and there doesn’t seem to be room for a city girl with a chip on her shoulder. The only person who makes her feel like a real human being is Tyler MacDonald.
But Karen isn’t interested in starting something with a player. And that’s all she keeps hearing about Tyler.
Corrigan Falls is a hockey town, and Tyler’s the star player. But the viselike pressure from his father and his agent are sending him dangerously close to the edge. All people see is hockey—except Karen. Now they’ve managed to find something in each other that they both desperately need. And for the first time, Tyler is playing for keeps…
The hometown hockey hero won’t know what hit him…

I'll Keep You Warm
Karen and Tyler's story has sweet and sour to it. They meet along a jogging path and become unusual friends. The squirrel helps break the ice - since Tyler saves her from could have been a nasty attack.
Tyler happens to be a hometown hero who plays hockey for the local team. He also has a reputation for hanging out with puck bunnies and sleeping around. He does not want this to taint his friendship with Karen. He likes her just for the time they spend together.
Karen has had a lot of emotional hits this year and they seem to keep coming. She come to live her dad for the first time. His family seems welcoming, but the kids seem upset at her presence. Karen spends a lot of time alone, or with Tyler.
They are both under pressure from those around them to stop hanging out. Neither one wants to give up such a good friendship that has been created. It may turn out to be something more.
Such an amazing story with real life interfering and friendship strengthening. I found the characters honest, real, and I believe what they say. The families are sure adding to the teen angst in this book.
