After abruptly quitting her job, single parent Jill Mason takes her eight-year-old daughter, Lizzie, on a ski vacation in Breckenridge, Colorado for a break from their home life in Virginia. Because of her difficult ex-husband and what her male ex-boss had just done last week, Jill has sworn off men completely. She is committed to living a more spontaneous life with her daughter while embracing new challenges. What Jill doesn't anticipate is meeting Nolan Turner, a man so handsome that he takes her breath away the first morning of their vacation.
