Publisher Description

Abstract. -- Comparisons of fish collections made from the Double Mountain Fork of the Brazos River before and after impoundment of Lake Alan Henry show that the stream fish assemblage upstream from the lake has changed dramatically. Overall, numerical dominance in the fish assemblage has shifted from minnows (family Cyprinidae) to pupfishes and killifishes (family Cyprinodontidae). The cyprinid species Hybognathus placitus and Notropis buccula, which were abundant in pre-impoundment collections, have become extirpated, or nearly so, since the river was impounded. **********
