All the 24-year-old Charlotte wants in life is to travel to Paris to see him…

In 1793, despite La Guillotine operating day and night, in spite of her family's warnings about her being too independent, she has a plan, and she will not be deterred.
It will be a long trip to the city, but when she finally arrives, she will make sure she is her most beautiful for him. After all, he deserves at least that, doesn't he? N'est-ce pas?
Along the way, as she encounters dishonesty and kindness, pain and healing, she never loses sight of her goal, her dream. She knows that when she finally meets up with him, her life will be changed forever, and she can hardly wait.

Originally entitled, "Him," in Tales To Count On, this is a short story's alternative route to the French Revolution.
