A great story set in the New Mexico frontier following the civil war. Chase was a Union soldier, comforting a Rebel soldier as he dies. The ‘reb’ asks Chase to return a locket to his wife, Libby. In the process of trying to do right by the dying soldier and Libby, Chase finds love and redemption. The book has well-written descriptions of ranch life in frontier times—the trials and tribulations to be overcome. The characters are strong and complex, the dialogue well-developed. A really full, rich story.

Iv read all 4 Books in this Series and I'm looking forward to reading more , I just can't tell you how I have enjoyed these books it's been hard foe me to put them down
