Chaucer for Children

Chaucer for the nursery: the Prologue, the Knight's Tale, the Franklin's and the Pardoner's, given in Mrs Haweis's modernised verse with the Middle English printed beside it. She wrote and illustrated it in 1877 for her own children, and it was one of the first attempts to give Chaucer to the young. The glossary and the pictures teach the language as much as the text does.
