Chivalry

‘Chivalry’ is an early work by Cabell, a slender collection of short tales. The Prince Edward of the second story here is very much the prototype of Don Manuel in ‘Figures of the Earth.’ Indeed, most of the ‘types’ that populate Cabell’s novels are to be found, but clothed in a more courtly style, as they pass through a somewhat tongue in cheek pastiche of Medieval romances.
