I'm so glad I had this book in my kindle waiting for me when I finished Here With Me. I just NEEDED to know who Ryley would choose. Two men, both who love her and her son dearly, both whom she loves. If she chooses one, she hurts the other.
My heart was torn in two, I wanted to hate Nate for taking Ryley, but I couldn't. He had been there for her when they all thought Evan was dead. Poor Ryley is torn as to who to choose. Even worse is EJ in the middle of all of this. I was on an emotional roller coaster.
Not only did we feel what all these characters felt as they tried to get their lives back together, but also the emotional turmoil they went through as they discovered all the secrets that led to Evan being "dead" for all these years.
Heidi has been one of my all time favorite authors, and honestly this and Here With Me, might be one of my all time favorite books by her!!
Had potential but just ok
The first book start off great and I truly loved the twist and turns of the first novel.
So I was highly disappointed with the flow and choppiness of the storyline.
This book starts with the assumption that the reader has not read the first novel; ok I could live with that but the gaps were huge in the overall storyline. I would go in to detail, but won't because a lot that is discussed in the next several hours are already address and played out. So it is with total dismay that I'm reading Choose Me, and thinking "huh" that was already coverage. Evan's disappearance, Riley and Nate's relationship and even little EJ.
I was disappointed but just continued to see ho everyone fared but someone should have critique and asked the author to revisit her continuation of the storyline and the disconnect beaten book 1 versus book 2.
