A made man versus the cartel …
The job was simple—a contract from a powerful crime family to retrieve Valeria Lòpez. A woman believed to have been forcibly taken by one of the major cartels in Mexico. Easy enough, right?
Christopher Guzzi thought so, but the details made it difficult. He didn't expect to trick his way into the path of the cartel leader only to develop feelings for the woman he was meant to recover. That leader's wife. Every step he takes is risky, and one wrong move could leave them both dead. Too bad that's not enough to keep him away from Valeria as he tries to find a way to free her.
Hope is a dangerous thing.
Love is even worse.
Here, everybody plays dirty.
No one can be trusted.
So, how do they get out alive?

Note: Chris is book 3 in The Guzzi Legacy. It is a standalone novel.

Mafia ❤️
I love, love, love this series. The impressive Cosa Nostra Guzzi men are heart-throbbingly swoon worthy with their fierceness and ability to love their women with respect and sexiness. Papa Gian taught his sons well! After Corrado's fabulous duet I was looking forward to his twin's story. That duet featured Chris quite a bit and I really had a good appreciation of who he is and his differences from his twin. His story is a stand alone but without reading Corrado's stories you will miss out on some of his wonderful qualities. I hate to say it but this story left me wanting more of the trademark mafia brutality and violence. I thought we would at least get a few brutal glimpses of what really happened between Valeria and her husband or Chris having to pull out his deadly League talents. This story focused on the romance between Chris and Valeria without very much suspense or the enormously intense situations that are usually found in this author's mafia stories. Oh, don't get me wrong there were some tense moments where I thought Chris was in major peril along with the long suffering but resilient and lovely Valeria. The evil Jorge was ever present as a threat to their safety and I so loved his comeuppance. Chris was fabulous in his treatment of Valeria and her adorable daughter, Maria. I loved that little girl! I thought at first that our lovers were moving a little fast but as the story developed their connection was evident and their chemistry hot. Chris showed Valeria what real, sexy love was in that special Guzzi way. Jorge's sister was a terrific character. I hope we see her in future stories. The ending was spectacular and I loved that Corrado and Les were involved when things got real. And of course it's always good to see the Marcellos and their interesting relationship with the Guzzi men. The epilogue was wonderful and wrapped up the story in a satisfying way. As always the writing is outstanding and the characters are what I've come to expect from one of my favorite author. I can't wait for the next Guzzi Legacy installment! I voluntarily reviewed an ARC.
