Publisher Description

Having completed the two cycles of legend to which she has devoted her career so far, Anne Rice gives us now her most ambitious and courageous book, a novel about the early years of CHRIST THE LORD, based on the Gospels and on the most respected New Testament scholarship.

The book’s power derives from the passion its author brings to the writing and the way in which she summons up the voice, the presence, the words of Jesus who tells the story.

Christ the Lord: Out of Egypt

This is a book about the life of Jesus. It is incorrectly categorized as "horror" in the iTunes bookstore. The second book of the series Christ the Lord: The Road to Caanan is categorized as "religious". It's a very interesting historical fiction book written from the point of Jesus as a young boy.

Christ the Lord: Out of Egypt

I read this book after receiving a recommendation from our Bible Study coordinator. Ann Rice did a wonderful job weaving first century history with Jesus' discovery of who he was and what he was to become-Our Lord and Savior. I was struck by how terrifying it must have been to live at that time with the incredible cruelty inflicted on the Jews by the Romans and by their own Jewish Leaders.
