Bloody, dark and gritty

Like the title says bloody, dark and gritty. Magic, demons, witches and severed body parts. Good story and good characters. A solid tale.

Like hearing a good friend tell me a story

There are many great things about these books, but what drew me in from the start was how the narrator feels like he’s somehow telling the story to me, and only me.

I can see how the author did that but somehow that doesn’t make it any less special. So much so that I enjoyed it even more the second time around.

Aughto Neurotic ,

The Original

Told in a minimalistic, yet powerful voice, these are the Chronicles of the Black Company as told by the annalist Croaker. Fast paced, exciting characters, swords and sorcery describe how a band of mercenaries can counter and defeat sorcerers of nearly demi-god proportions.

If you like smart, gritty heroes who take no crap, these books are for you.
