Publisher Description
Make this gorgeous Chrysanthemum Centerpiece by using natural and man-made materials to create a one-of-a-kind floral bouquet that will never wilt. This is the perfect DIY (do-it-yourself) craft project using painted pinecones (Loblolly or Jeffrey varieties) as the transformed chrysanthemums. The skill level to complete this project is rated as “intermediate”. This project appeared in original leaflet 1622 – A Beginner’s Guide to Pinecone Florals by Theresa Morgan.
The materials needed to transform the pinecones into flowers include: pinecones (assorted sizes), 18 gauge floral wire, green floral tape, spray paint (used for the petals), acrylic paint (used for the base and accent colors), and gloss-finish clear acrylic spray sealer.
To make the centerpiece base, the materials include: 14.5”w x 10”h x 6.5”d [36.83 cm x 25.4 cm x 16.51 cm] woven basket with handle, pinecone chrysanthemums (in assorted sizes and colors), artificial silk star flowers (white is shown), silk leather leaf fern, 1.25 yards [114.3 cm] of 2.5”w [6.35 cm] woven ribbon (floral print shown), floral foam and sheet moss.
